The spot we couldn't find, so we built it.

YAASA started with a craving. We kept looking for a West African spot that fit the way we eat in New York: full of flavor, made fresh, made quick. We never found the one we pictured, so we built it ourselves, at 212 E 45th Street

THE ROOM

We built the room we dreamed about.

Scratch made West African food sitting hot on a stone counter, modern African art created for us by South African artist Keya Tama, African music in the air, and a vibe you feel the second you walk in.

THE FOOD

Made from scratch, every morning.

We blend our own spices, marinate overnight, and cook everything fresh each day. At the heart of it are our three warm toppings; Yaasa, Mafé and Ratatouille, simmered slow and ladled hot over every plate, straight from the pot, like a home cooked meal.

Come Through.
